INTRODUCTION

Hey! Welcome back to my Cybersecurity HomeLab series. In the last chapter, I covered my HomeLab overview and VMware Workstation Pro installation.

In this chapter, I’ll move on to network segmentation, VLAN configuration, and pfSense installation and setup.

Let’s get started!

NETWORK SEGMENTATION

As shown in the network diagram above, for this HomeLab, I will set up six network segments, all connected to the firewall, with each segment managed using firewall rules.

I will use the 10.0.x.0/24 IP range for my VLANs, with the gateway set to 10.0.x.1/24.

Here are the network segments:

  • VMnet 8 – WAN (Default NAT)
  • VLAN 10 – Management
